We collect the following information when you use Jolene:

Account information: Email address, username, and password when you register
Profile information: Name, avatar photo, location (city/suburb), and bio
Listing information: Photos, descriptions, prices, and categories of items you list for sale
Transaction information: Purchase history, payment details (processed securely by Stripe), shipping addresses
Messages: Communications between buyers and sellers
Device information: Push notification tokens for sending you notifications

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and operate the Jolene marketplace
Process transactions and payments
Enable communication between buyers and sellers
Show relevant listings based on your location
Send push notifications about your listings, messages, and orders
Personalise your experience with favourite brands
Moderate content and enforce our Terms of Use
Improve our app and services

4. Payment Security

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We never store your credit card details on our servers. Stripe's security practices comply with PCI DSS standards.

5. Location Data

We use the location you provide in your profile (city and optionally suburb) to power the "Near Me" map feature and show buyers items in their area. We do not track your GPS location. You can choose to share only your city for privacy.

6. AI Camera

When you use the AI camera to create a listing, your photo is sent to OpenAI's servers for analysis to automatically fill in listing details. The photo is used solely for this purpose and is not stored by OpenAI beyond processing.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share your data only with:

Stripe: For payment processing
Supabase: For secure data storage and authentication
OpenAI: For AI-powered listing creation
NZ Post: For shipping label generation and parcel tracking
Expo: For push notifications

8. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers. Images are stored in Supabase Storage. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

9. Your Rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

Access your personal information
Request correction of your information
Request deletion of your account and data
Opt out of push notifications

10. Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at help@jolene.nz. We will process deletion requests within 48 hours.

11. Children's Privacy

Jolene is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes through the app or by email.
